Mark HenryMark Henry was born and raised on a family farm in Iowa. His interest in music began with piano lessons (at age 5), and evolved into the clarinet in the grade school concert bands. At his instructors urging, he also learned to play a tenor saxophone so he could play in the jazz bands; and after a year, he switched to the bari sax. When the bass player in the high school jazz band quit, he picked up a bass and played it for the year.

In college, Mr. Henry was active in the Iowa State Jazz Band (again on bari sax), but upon graduating and matriculating to the University of Michigan law school, he quit playing. Big mistake.

Fast forward to Christmas 1994. Recognizing that something was missing from his life, and inspired by a friend in Phoenix who fronted an R&B band, Mr. Henry bought a bass. He landed the usual church gigs, wanted more, and helped found a band at one of Phoenix's big law firms. The band enjoyed some success, particularly after Mr. Bodnar joined it. Through that band, Mr. Henry and Mr. Bodnar found Darla, drew the easy conclusion that she was a phenomenal singer/frontman, and founded Slightly Right. The rest is history in the making.
